Catherine Lalonde works as a poet, spoken word artist and journalist.  Having trained at Ateliers de Danse Moderne de Montréal Inc.,
she has gone on to dance with la Fondation Jean-Pierre Perreault, Michèle Rioux, Karina Iraola and Jean-Sébastien Lourdais.  She
choreographed Musica Nocturna, a dance, theatre and poetry piece, for Danse Cité and Festival International de la Littérature in 2009.
As a poet, she explores acceptable excesses, eroticism, shame, representations of femininity, incommunicability, the rupture of cliché
and the unsaid, poetic representation and verbal expression.  Among her three published books, Corps Étranger (Québec Amérique /
La Passe du Vent) is distinguished by having earned the Émile Nelligan prize in 2009.  Catherine is a regular at poetry readings and
literary cabarets.  She is also a journalist and critic at the daily Le Devoir, and has written song lyrics for a few seasoned singers.
